Today I am going to share a true miracle that took place in the island of Maui, Hawaii. During that time that I was still attending the Roman Catholic Church, which was the religion I was raised in since my birth. At the time of this event, I was born again, but did not yet fully grasp my faith as I would eventually understand in the near future. This miracle took place before I took a trip to Virginia, in the spring of 1979. I have written a book called “The Mud, The Diamond, The Glory” but the book is no longer in print, however it is still available at Amazon.com.
THE FIRE FELL
That particular day, I was lying on my bed in my room looking at a statue of Mary that I had place on top of the dresser. As I looked at the statue, the Holy Spirit opened my spiritual eyes and I had a vision of two other goddesses on the statue. Immediately, I knew that Yahweh was showing me this statue was an idol. In Acts 19 we read that in Ephesus, Paul had to contend with the silversmith Demetrius. His business and that of the other silversmiths was lost due to the revival taking place as Paul preached “The Way.” This goddess of the Ephesians was called Diana. Jeremiah calls her “the Queen of Heaven,” which is one of the titles the Roman Catholic Church gives to Mary, the earthly mother of Yahoshua. Let us fully understand that Yahweh is not married and neither is Yahoshua. There is only YHWH, His Son Yahoshua and the Holy Spirit of YHWH; one Elohim. Deuteronomy 6:4 proclaims: “Hear, O Israel, YHWH our Elohim, YHWH is one!” Spiritually we are the Bride of Yahoshua, but His natural mother is not the queen of heaven or a co-savior of the world as that church teaches. We, who read the Word, know that worshipping Mary is idolatry.
As I was seen the vision, the Ruach haQodesh, Holy Spirit, He reminded me of the Word. Yahweh commands us not to bring idols into our homes and to destroy all idols by fire. The Scripture in Deuteronomy 7:25-26 declares: “You shall burn the carved images of their gods with fire; you shall not covet the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it for yourselves, lest you be snared by it; for it is an abomination to YHWH your Elohim. Nor shall your bring an abomination into your house, lest you be doomed to destruction like it. You shall utterly detest it and utterly abhor it, for it is an accursed thing.” I had no doubt in my mind that YHWH was speaking to this little Catholic girl to burn her idols, one of them being the statue of Mary.
This was a revelation to me, for all my life I had prayed to Mary, the natural mother of Yahoshua. I even chose, as a teenager, to be consecrated to Mary, instead of to the Sacred Heart of Yahoshua, when asked to choose. My reasoning as a child was that because Mary was a woman, she would be gentler toward humanity than Yahweh’s Son. This shows how my mind was distorted and corrupted by that doctrine. Only Yahweh Elohim could untwist my thinking, which He did as I walked faithfully with Him.
That day, as soon as the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart, I got up and took the statue with a crucifix with the cross bones on the bottom of the feet of the man on it, and wrapped them in fine wrapping paper. I went outside and down the stairs to “bury” them in the flower bed by the front door of the house. When I finished with my little “funeral,” I left the scene and began walking back to the house. While going upstairs I sensed the deep conviction of the Holy Spirit letting me know that I had disobeyed Him. I had acted like Saul when Samuel reproved him for his disobedience and said, “But I have obeyed the voice of YHWH, and gone on the mission on which YHWH sent me…” (1 Samuel 15:20)
Saul lied to Samuel and to himself. However, I knew I had disobeyed YHWH. Immediately I dug up my “sacrifice” and placed it on the open ground not far from the house under the avocado tree to burn it.
I also went to the porch of the house and took the image of a tiki that Phil, my ex-husband, had received as an award, several years earlier from the National Guard. A tiki is the image of a Hawaiian god that in the past, and presently, receives worship by many. I took it to the pile and lay it on the ground with my idols. I remembered the Holy Spirit had given me supernatural insight the year before, that this idol had to be burned. One Sunday morning as I returned home from a congregation service, I saw in the spirit, the whole room where the idol had been on fire. It was a spiritual fire and a sign telling me that the idol had to burn in the natural. YHWH showed me that idol was not to be given place in our home. However, He gave me the wisdom to realize that I did not then have the authority to burn it. But now the time had come to be doing what He had shown me. I also took anything in the house, whatever seemed suspicious to me, outside to be burned. Then I placed much paper under the items to be burned.
While I was preparing to light the fire, for some reason I kept thinking of Elijah on Mount Carmel.
1 Kings 18:31-39: “And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, to whom the word of YHWH had come, saying, “Israel shall be your name.” then with the stones he built an altar in the name of YHWH; and he made a trench around the altar large enough to hold two seahs of seed. And He put the wood in order, cut the bull in pieces, and laid it on the wood, and said, “Fill four water-pots with water, and pour it on the burnt sacrifice and on the wood.” Then he said, ‘Do it a second time,” and they did it a second time; and he said, “Do it a third time,” and they did it a third time. So the water ran all around the altar; and he also filled the trench with water. And it came to pass, at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near and said, “YHWH Elohim of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known this day that You are elohim in Israel and I am Your servant, and that I have done all these things at Your word. Hear me, O YHWH, hear me, that this people may know that You are YHWH Elohim, and that You have turned their hearts back to You again. “Then the fire of YWHH fell and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood and the stones and the dust, and it licked up the water that was in the trench. Now when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces; and they said, “YHWH, He is Elohim! YHWH, He is Elohim!”
Elijah was chosen by YHWH to cleanse Israel from Baal worship. His mission was to bring the chosen people back to the pure worship of YHWH their Elohim. As Israel was in idolatry, so was I. My mind was divided, as theirs had been. Elijah is known as a prophet of fire. That day I did not yet know, that I also would be calling on Elohim and He would answer me by fire!
After preparing my “Sacrifice,” using the water hose I drenched the idols and the immediate area with water. This was necessary to ensure the fire did not spread. Eventually I tried to light a match to burn the pile of idols, without success. I kept on trying in vain. The fire would not light because I had saturated the paper with water. But YHWH had another plan. While returning to the house in defeat, the Holy Spirit came to my rescue. I sensed that I needed to pray for Yahweh to send the fire Himself, as he had for Elijah. I prayed something like this: “Yahweh if you want these things to burn, send the fire as you sent it for Elijah.” I prayed without results. I went inside the house, but I did not sense the release to stop praying. I prayed in tongues and in English again saying, “If you want these things to burn, please send the fire!” Suddenly I heard a sound as of a mighty rushing wind coming from heaven. I run outside and saw that fire had fallen! It was burning everything I had placed there. It was as though YHWH had poured gasoline on it. YHWH’S wrath poured out upon the idolatry that had kept me bound all my life. There was almost nothing left of the idols but ashes!
Yahweh has not changed His mind. What he did in the past, he will do today, if we only believe. He really means what he says in His Word concerning Idols. We have no choice. We must burn any idols in our lives. He may not send the fire every time to set people free from idolatry, but He has given us His Word and we must obey Him, for YHWH is a consuming fire.
Deuteronomy 4:24: “For YHWH your Elohim is a consuming fire, a jealous Elohim.”
Hebrew 12:29:”For indeed our Elohim, is a consuming fire.”
He is jealous and He will not share His glory with another. Idols attract demons to us, bringing a curse. They represent a false god that people worship. As believers we cannot give place to demons in our lives. No image is to be venerated, shown respect, or worshipped, which is all the same thing. We do not need images to worship our Elohim. We worship Him in Spirit and Truth. We in John 4:24: “Elohim is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” He chose how we must worship Him; therefore we do it His way, and not our way.
A few weeks after this event, my ex-husband came to my house to borrow my typewriter. He saw the branch that had burned with fire. He yelled at me, “Look lady, you could have burned the whole house.” I answered, “I didn’t do it. If you want to get mad, get mad at Elohim, He is the one who sent the fire.”
He was already mad at Elohim. I did not know how else to answer him. I was heartbroken, because Phil took the last of his things from my home and would never come back again. But, his noticing the burnt branch caused me to see it for the first time. Yahweh left proof to all who may have doubted that the fire came from heaven. I never doubted that Elohim sent the fire from heaven, but now I had proof. Until my ex-husband pointed out the burned branch to me, I had no evidence that indeed the fire came from heaven. The burned branch is the proof for anyone who still has doubt in their hearts concerning this miracle. Yahweh is supernatural. He does the supernatural for you and for me. If we believe Him as did Elijah and the prophets, He will manifest His power over and over. All He requires is child-like faith. He gave me such a faith at that time, and that released the miracles. However, He initiated and finished the miracle. It did not happen because I will it to happen. It was His will for me at that particular time only. I would not be able to make it happen again to prove it to anyone!
Some years after this miracle, I understood the reason why I was not present when the fire fell, but I saw it burning. I was away from the scene. The fire was the judgment of Elohim on idolatry in that particular church and the world. When He sends His judgment, I will be in heaven with other millions of believers. I firmly believe that I will not be on this planet when His judgment is released upon this earth. The reason for it is:
“Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.” Revelation 3:10.
My question to you, beloved reader is: “Are you ready to meet Yahoshua in the air? Have you believed the gospel and are you serving Him faithfully?
If you have not yet committed your life to Him, you can do so now. All you need to do is to ask Yahweh to forgive your sins by repenting with all your heart, and commit yourself to serve Him only as long as you live. Believe in Yahoshua His only Son, and you will be saved.
Do not fear that Yahweh will reject you, but fear what could happen to you if you do not chose to serve Him. Today can be the best day of your life. Do not pass this opportunity.
